I can’t a job for shit and I would rather spend my time learning this and being good at it so I can do whatever I want and not have to conform.

Only goal I have is to be able to do whatever I want.

I’m not really stimulated by things nor am I really inspired, I find life boring and a joke.

I’m working on trying to make my first $0.01.

Your cat pictures are funny and annoying. They can’t compare to Nyan Cat though, just saying. ^_^

Hey bro I got out of the AF about 4 years ago, its been awesome. What career field were you? I was a 3c0 – Comm Squadron doing Server Support stuff.

Ive been doing Local biz marketing, been having the ups and downs like everyone but I’m working hard to make it work.

    Yea!
Dude, I could hear some great American anthem playing as I read the last bit of this. It was like the speech from ‘Independence Day’ or something.

    Spectacular!

Do you remember that feeling when things started really clicking. When you could get your sites ranked super fast and get visitors in a day or 2?

That feeling that you wouldn’t be at the mercy of some asshole anymore?

That’s me right now, and I swear a LOT of that comes from you guys and the cool shit you teach here.

I don’t want to sound like a fruity cheerleader or anything, but I’m SO glad I found Source Wave…you guys are the shiznit!

Great inspirational post. Thank you! I am also in the military and will be commissioning as an officer soon. My goal is to be able to have an online income to support myself and my fiancé while serving part time in the national guard. You are an inspiration and every word of guidance I take to heart in my site building efforts.

Whats up Alex, I’m trying to make at least $2000 a month for starters then increase the income from there. I love your helpful post. Things is just still moving so slow for me. And I loose hope at times. Then I jump back. Your post keep me going though. Here’s a site Im working on now:

    thebestallinclusiveresort.org

I’m trying to get some Adsense income going on this, it just seems impossible.

Anyway, I like the funny cat pics!

Great Post. Inspired me to post which I never do anywhere….I’m 37, I first got into IM (9months ago)to supplement my wifes income she had for 2 years as an assistant manager in a resturant that she was promised more things that never came.( Imagine that, they took advantage of her morals and work ethic-bigtime) She quit, we were having a house built after 4 years of living with her parents and finally paying debts off from when we were both married before. We have 5 kids altogether and one grand child and all but my 15 year old lives with us. I knew their was money being made online but I hardly was on their other than work stuff.I found an ad to have my own adult website built for me and i keep all the markups, Thot it would be easy, thats billions of dollars a year sold of it and I just needed a little peice of it. well as you know not the best niche to get into and with the 40.00 dollars a month i had to pay for it(still am) I needed to do more. I started with NPC and built acouple sites for adsense, one was great keyword but was mature theme so google wont send ads to it, so I started sending to amazon and to drive traffic to the other store. It was 2nd in google next to the official site and was getting 4000 visitors for 1 month. now it sits number 6 and only 30 or so aday. I aint sure what happen with it. My wife started a cleaning business so I built a site in dec. for her, It was bout 6th and a page rank 3 after 1 1/2 months, but I havent diversified the links enough so it has dropped, I started with my brother inlaws handyman site in jan and have gotten 5 or 6 keywords to page one for him. Went through maps marketing blueprint(google places training) for wifes site and when I showed it to him, he wanted me to rebuild his. I didnt charge him enough money though. I decided local offline marketing is what I wanted to do to help them and us out. Win Win deal and it started ok, I’ve pretty much done everything myself exceept some fiverr gigs and more WSO’s than I can count looking for some answers to certain things. I also work full time job locating underground utilties lines for a local city(first 2 yrs it was a private CO. and then went to the city(raises stopped 4 yrs ago) I have 17 yrs in locating utilities but know I cant provide for my family like I’ve always wanted. missed alot of the older ones things working so much overtime. they are 2,6,12,15,19 yrs old. them and my wife is what drives me to succeed, they deserve better and I wont stop until I can quit my job and do this full time. We struggle every week to pay bills and the house we finally have is at risk if I dont get better results faster( more clients I guess). I want to out source things alot more. Hard to know whos right to use. Iwork about 4-5 hours a nite( 2 am sometimes and get up at 5:30 for work) on things when I get home frome normal job and that puts stress on things there(more on weekends) I read and watch a ton of stuff for the best ways. The money in local seems to be faster b ut would still like to build passive income after I get further along. working at home, for myself is what excites me and are part of my goals. ( a Vacation too, weve never had one as a family and my wife and I didnt get a real wedding let alone a honeymoon if you know what I mean. If nothing else thanks for your post and letting me get htis out.

  10. March 15, 2012

    Hay guys
I’m always compelled to read your post ……and I’m always greatful that I do. What inspires me ……ummm other internet marketers …..well you guys in fact both Alex and Becker have played a big part in why I am taking steps in the right direction. Its funny when I started on my internet journey I was only focused on putting websites together and believe me my first site was a shocker!! But since finding the link back and source wave and having a coaching session with Becker I have dived head first into offline marketing and hay presto its working… Am I there (where ever there is?) yet …..heck no but the fact that I can see results only boosts my confidence and shows me that this stuff does work and I can make it work for me.

There are so many possibilities out there and we just need to dive in and enjoy the ride.

My one biggest problem was always thinking that it was all out of my reach, average little old me couldn’t do all those things that the gurus do. Well that mind set has changed for me and I now know that there really are no limits …….say you cant and you cant…….but say ok whats next and you will go a long way.

You guys both rock ( ye its a cheesy word but its true!!) so a big thanks to both Alex and Becker and may our community of IM get bigger and bigger and more successful as we travel this journey together…….hold on its gonna be a hell of a ride :)

Great things are done not by great men but by ordinary men put in a position that stretches and challenges them. What I love about your site is that it is about an ordinary man with all the flaws that go with being that man who got hold of a sense of a dream and just ran with it. As a Kiwi one of our most famous men was Sir Edmund Hillary who conquered Everest, an ordinary man well prepared who thought he might just knock the “bas….d Off” and he did. I look forward to that which you will show us over months and years to come because this surely is not the end but just the end of the beginning.

Nice and inspiring post Alex and the last few paragraphs sounds promising, but…

If you “… want Source Wave to be the spawn of something different in IM…” then PLEASE stop mailing 2-3 WSOs every day

I only stay subscribed and keep opening them
    a) in a good memories of how i “met” you – it was Chad’s referral – and you did a KILLER no BS, no pitch, 100% USEFUL content webby (one of the best actually i’ve ever attended); and how it all started…
    b) you still provide great content but it seems like you are tipping to the “dark side” (Luke? :D)

but its getting so watered down (IMHO) with the “buy this and get our best bonus”
thats how i feel (if you care) anyway

Don’t mean to be mean :) I do hugely appreciate all the quality stuff you share and i’ve learned a lot from you!

Let the force be with you!

    P.S. WhyTF all this this star wars bits… i don’t know… “don’t ask” :p

  13. March 15, 2012

    Excellent post!

I can very much relate. A thought of trading 40 hours a week for peanuts for life with high chance of early dismissal upon short notice didn’t sound too appealing.

Ironically, just like you, I was trading 100+ hours a week and paying for it (!) in exchange for the opportunity to make it work or die trying. Great life lessons and character strength building that’s for sure. If I wasn’t going to make it happen for myself, no one else would. So I had to get my s*** together and just do it!

Eventually, just like you, I discovered that mini niche business is a full-time job of 2-5 people, and at the end of the day, after spending hours in front of a computer, you earn a nice 38 inch waist and bag under your eyes.

The search continued and the conclusion was reached that one of the best ways to a nice and rewarding life is to be helping others (membership or coaching) – in other words – human contact (in-person or digital, but preferably outdoors), minimum computer time, maximum automation (do work once) and leverage (teams of people working together),

If this sounds like Network Marketing, then clearly I’ve been brainwashed by Brian Tracy, Robert Kiyosaki, and Donald Trump, but luckily I have enough experience to know that being a mere consultant isn’t easy either.

So why not leverage the INTERNET to perfect what’s technically ideal? Et voila – this is what I am up to now! www,GetFitBodyNow.com/biz

P.S. Keep up the cat pictures!! They’re funny as hell!

    Hey Hassan,

I was at the fire department. Yeah there was a lot that was awesome about it, just some shockingly bad stuff with the people I directly worked with.

Local biz is where its at, Good luck with it!

    March 15, 2012

    Ha thanks Wally.

It really happened when I got the stuff we did in the coaching session down. You saw first hand how easy it is when you put everything together. Its no longer a matter of if, its just a matter of when it at that point!

You will always be OUR fruity cheerleader though, so your still cool…=P

    Hi Guys,

I just found your site and I really enjoyed reading your story, you sound like an interesting guy. I started online about a year ago ….. i want to start building a business so that we can retire one day and move back home.
My husband is a hard working man and I want to take some of the pressure off of him.
I have tried all year with little success, but I know it can be done so i am not giving up. We have moved around for the last few years and we just want to go back to Florida and live life on our own terms.
I will be checking in to see what is up… looking forward to your next post.

    Hey Dory =D

    How have you been!

Very excited about your recent offline success and glad to have been a part of it!

  28. March 16, 2012

Hey bro, this is a dope site, and I’ll tell you why (other than the cat pictures, which I always love)

You’re not trying to ‘market’ us. You realize how much dough there is out there in untapped niches and such, so there’s no point in being all skeezy about making a site about IM – and I know I’m not the only one that appreciates the straight-forward, no BS angle you and Cass bring. Although you send a lot of emails sometimes, it doesn’t bother me because I know if I have any questions they can be answered quickly by skimming some older posts/webinars/forum.

I got into IM because I’m about to graduate and really have been thinking about WHAT DO I WANT? Instead of what my parents want me to do, what makes me happy? For me, that’s constantly travelling and meeting new people and having the appropriate income to support that lifestyle. I have friends that got into IM, but are mad brain washed by other IM’ers that its too hard because google will always slap you, and its apparently unpredictable. I got Panda Dundee, applied everything I learned, and now I have a site on page one for 1300 exact global monthly searches. If it wasn’t for you and Cass, I would probably be conned into thinking I needed hundreds of dollars of SEO tools, when in reality all I needed was proper on-page, and a few fiverr packages.

Now my challenges are learning enough photoshop, and site design to get it converting properly, and applying your longterm backlinking strategy.

Already made like $5, but I know this had mad potential, and I gotta thank you again for having a place where its not based around marketing to marketers, but real shit.

Thanks bro, keep hitting us with the cat pics, they make me warm and fuzzy inside.

    Hey Beck,

When i saw some of your videos i thought you were an asshole to be honest. But after reading this you seem to be a pretty cool guy. I like you man. No Homo!

I sucked at highschool to until i finally focused and finished at 20 years of age. What was intersting tho is when i actually tried i got on the ABhonoroll.

Anyways im into video marketing and using YT videos to get ranked in the search engine. I am running PPC campaigns at the moment as well on an international level but that traffic is a little challenging to convert which is something that i suck at. And i know you are pretty sold with conversions.

I have a few questions about SEO that you could probably help me with on the forum as well. Just wanted to let you know your a cool peoples man. Keep giving us more. Im joining the forum as well.

    Peece!

    March 16, 2012

Yeah dude, Nyan cat is ridiculous hahaha. I’m glad I found your product SEO Hybrid. Finally have something to follow and I’m now on google’s first page just following it step-by-step.

    March 16, 2012

Great story. Add about thirty years and I can relate. Got out of the Air Force 33 years ago. Worked in an Avionics squadron at the end of the Viet Nam war.

Worked for such a bad boss, it made me succeed.

Now I have been trying to work my way into Internet Marketing. Have made more than a few bucks as a content writer for online outfits, but would like to leverage myself somehow to make a full time living. Maybe kick back and enjoy life a little more.

Looking for the most realistic way to do that.

I appreciate the opportunity to learn with a group of people where everyone is not trying to sell me the next greatest ebook.

    Keep up the good work.

  32. Becker
    March 16, 2012

That $5 is important! Not because of how much it is worth, but it is the first taste that will turn you into a IM wolf!

Your dream is perfectly attainable as long as you stick to it!

  33. Becker
    March 16, 2012

    Thanks buddy.

Yeah, frankly I get that a lot sometimes. I am kind of outspoken to a fault. However, I am glad you get where I am coming from now.

Ill be sure to hit you up on the forum!

  34. Becker

  35. Becker
    March 16, 2012

Same here Don, and that is pretty cool about the Air Force.

Keep on coming by and we will keep delivering

  36. Anthony
    March 16, 2012

Dude, I can watch that forever (most I’ve done was 4 hours) due to it’s consistency. Pretty hilarious in my opinion. Once I get $75 I’m going to get a private coaching session from you fa sho. Prolly get a part-time job so I don’t have to go crazy at home being non-social.

  37. Manidip
    March 16, 2012

    Dear Beck,

I do not need to advise you though.
Still I feel as a non English person
    that you talk too fast.

    Otherwise you are very cool.
    You have knowledge.
    You have courage.
    You have humor.
    You have kindness.

    No BS. All facts.

I am here to stay, Beck.

You are warned now and be ready to
    face noob questions.

I am enjoying SEO Hybrid and it’s cool.

This site is also super quality.
The content is such quality and you
can enter into a niche called “Personality Development”.

    I am not kidding.

    I am here to stay.

    Regards
    Manidip

    Hey Alex,

Truly inspirational story, and a great post. It seems like a lot of people (Pat Flynn, Chris Ravencraft, yourself) who make it in this internet business have that “leap of faith” moment where they NEED to make money to survive. Do you think you would be where you are today if you didn’t have this make or break decision?

What really resonated with me was the fact that above all else, the pursuit for Freedom. I’m 23 and a grad student and like what I’m studying, but I’m realizing that the 9-5 is not for me. I’m hoping to set myself up while I finish school to follow my other offline dreams (surfing, traveling, RSD among others)!

I am working for that first $1, and know the sky is the limit from there :)

    Aloha,
    Dustin

  40. Becker
    March 16, 2012

Oh I am ready for the questions Manidip =)

  41. Becker
    March 16, 2012

Nope I do not. It was the make or break situation that pushed me over the edge. Also I think working on things I was passionate about helped a ton.

The sky is truly the limit Dustin!

  42. March 16, 2012

    Becker,

I really DO hope you take Alex’s feelings into consideration as *I* feel the SAME way! I know you have a lot of IM “friends” and you have to promote some of those WSO’s, but how can every WSO be the absolute best? It is getting ridiculous the amount of spammy emails that I get from marketer’s that I don’t like (I unsubscribe from them after ’bout the 3rd), but when I really like someone and yes, I REALLY like both you & Cass (been with Cass since Fiverr All Stars, the first edition), it makes it very difficult to click on that unsubscribe button! Believe me I don’t wanna have to unsubscribe cuz if I did I would miss all of the funny cat pictures! LOL Don’t wanna miss those! :D

    Thanks!
    Cindy

  43. March 16, 2012

I saw you “Two step” and all your cohorts on RSD getting into “IM” like some weird pick-up guy fad, and thought “jesus, why are people always about the shortcut to stuff? Why not just WORK HARD to achieve things?”

At this point I was an aspiring journalist training in MMA. My training in MMA was being stifled by my 9-5 job but my journalism career, i thought, was going somewhere. I was promised an office in New York (I’m in London, UK) and a big pay rise. But then the recession hit and all those dreams were shattered.

I felt like i’d worked four and a half years at the company and got nowhere. In fact, I’m back doing now what I was doing when I started – and getting paid WAAAAY too much for it.

I realised if I did leave this job, and went on to further my journalism career, I’d have to take a pay cut. That’s not something I was prepared to do. I was also getting deeper into MMA and wanted to spend all my time doing that.

So I gave your whole “IM” thing a second chance… I read through that entire, legendary IM thread on RSD and saw promises of minimial work for $$$. I mean, supposedly, these kids were making twice as much as me, and were a lot younger.

So fuck it, this system isn’t fair, all the promises your mommy gave you about get good grades, go to a good college, get a good job with a good company FUCKING LIES.

So here I am, i decided to blog about MMA, cos that’s my love, and I hope to make enough money doing it so that I can quit my job and leave the country and live somewhere else – and train ALL DAY. At the same time i can work as a freelance writer, write a novel, make a documentary movie and become a filmmaker at some point.

    That’s the promise anyway…

  46. March 19, 2012

    Hey Becker,
First time I’ve stumbled across your blog and there is some good stuff here. I got out of the Navy about a year ago and am trying to find my way in IM as well. It has been one hell of a ride and I got hit hard with the recent private blog crackdown. Cool blog you got here, I’ll definitely be checking back. Cheers

Awesome post as always. I relate a lot to the whole ‘break or make it’ mindset and it is pretty much required to succeed. It’s so funny that every person to whom I’ve talked to about SEO (usually comes up when someone asks me “what do i do”) is like ‘Dude, I will definitely TRY THIS AS WELL to make some QUICK cash on the side, I spend a lot of time on the computer anyway”. HAHA, yea right.

  49. March 20, 2012

    Hey Becker,

I recently found your blog through that warrior forum post about why 95% marketer fail.
I really like all your blog posts and have learned a lot from it. I am kind of a newbie, I have made several website which haven’t really made any money. I am actually working on a website right now that I think will make money after couple of weeks.

I like the way you talk on this blog and I love the information. I have actually redesigned my whole website after watching the webinars. I would love to buy your product but not right now…you see, I made a promise to myself before starting this website that if I buy anything, it will be from the money that will come from one of the website. :)

I just found out that you have a forum, its great for me since I have a lot of question ;)

Oh and did you stop making websinars? I signed up for it but never got the invitation!

    Thank You,

  50. March 20, 2012

It feels like I’ve started over more times than I can count with this IM stuff. I managed to get a main site of mine up to $600+/mo with Adsense last year, but that got swallowed up by one of the PANDAs… It was a Postrunner site through ‘The Keyword Academy’ and they really helped me get things on track at first. I still have no idea whyit was de-indexed, but it was time to move on and pick up the pieces…

I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have come across this site, as well as a couple of WSOs you guys put out, as it’s been a game-changer. I have a renewed interest in building my sites and outsourcing some basic backlinking via Fiverr. If I can ever commit to the monthly BB membership, then I think things will REALLY take off!

Your transparency in your journey, and what we need to do to help us in our own journey, is the stuff of legend. It’s just such a rare commodity to find people willing to help others unconditionally, that I make it a point to never lose touch with those mentors, even though I generally stay in the background. I’m more of a bass player than I am a lead-singer, if that reference makes any sense.

Just wanted to put in my two cents and say ‘ROCK on, brother!’

  51. March 20, 2012

Hello Becker, I have been following your blog from a good time now. I have sent you two Email already about private coaching but I have not seen any reply on them…Not sure why?
I am really making some good money out there …But as it goes…I want to go one step ahead in that….Do let me know what the best time to catch you up….Thanks.

    Ha alright Vicky

  55. April 24, 2012

I came off of RSD Nation reading about people doing well in SEO (Fingerman does it too) so I decided to give it a try since girls=time=money

I was hoping for a little passive income

I just get obsessed with different subjects and try my best to do them well, im stuck right now and trying to figure out the best way to rank a site

I have a few crap sites, I may be one of the worst SEO people out there, definitely in the “pain period” right now

Do you find how often I use cat pictures funny or annoying? (I am not going to stop, I just want to know!)…my first love was a cat…

Hi Becker, It’s really hard to find a person like you, i can sense your sincerity in helping people. Well, I’m been into internet marketing for about 8 months now, i’m a student pursuing my graduation, i don’t have money to spend on improving my site’s ranking, moreover i usually go in for free blogs and free websites, i have a hard time finding good free traffic sources, i always backlink my free websites with a doubt whether these free weebly websites and blogger blog can rank among other strong competitors, but somewhere i have a hope that i’ll come big, anyways all your posts are wonderful, and this one was damn inspiring :)

Hey Becker, Knew I liked both of you guys as soon as you replied to one of my emails after a WSO purchase. You guys rock! You are my son’s ages, but I respect and have learned a great deal from you both. I can resonate with your feeling of being in a community, because after 4 years online, it can get pretty lonely behind the computer pulling long nights in the dark, hoping your site ranks :). Like you and many others, I built a hundred or more sites until now I am down to the few that really worked (the ol’ 80/20 rule of success). I have bought every type of WSO in the book to see what really worked for me.

Publishing Kindle books really worked for a few months, until Amazon changed some its guidelines on content. Squidoo worked at first, until they deindexed many of my sites for being too promotional. BUT! My list-building in IM is quietly and steadily growing a readership and my blog is becoming an authority blog after 3 years (surprise!), after just letting it sit for about a year and changing its mission often from online to offline to onine to offline.

My offline Consulting ebbs and flows with Clients, but my TRUE love is affiliate marketing. I have made enough sales in the past 3 years (thousands), but would like the stability of stable income, so have delved into LinkedIn marketing now as well.

I still have Clickbank sites, and health products and make some money on Amazon.com from some affiliate products. OH! and I love Youtube marketing, but don’t put all my apples there anymore either since a couple of times my Channels have been shut down due to affiliate marketing claims they did not like. And, I do get the occasional Adsense check which I love and the Squidoo small check as well.

In the end, all of your efforts DO pay off, if you CARE enough about the people that you market to. That was one of your points and the way I wish to live my life as well. I promote those products that I buy or would buy and leave the rest.

My son is applying for the Air Force and I know the experience will serve him well. Thanks so much for sharing. We can get to know each other in a community that got lost with online anonymous marketing :).

    Hi Alex,

Can I just say that I’m totally loving you guys… I always get a reply to my emails and you guys are just cool, your blog is awesome and your content is some of the best out there. Thank you.

Well I got into IM because of my obsession with volunteering abroad. I’ve been volunteering in SE Asia on and off for the past 7 years, and had to come home each time because I ran out of money..
Basically I came home, worked my butt off for a year then went away again, then came home again, worked my butt off, then went away… etc etc, working in restaurants or direct sales. I hated coming home just because I ran out of money so this time when I came back I decided that I needed to have a set up that would enable me to earn an income online, wherever I am in the world.

I would be totally happy with a regular income of $3K per month. So far, I’ve made $1.40 online ever, and that was from a CPA offer.

Having the freedom to travel and volunteer excites me, these two things are my passion… and don’t even get me started on nature and wildlife.. One of the best volunteer jobs I had was as a Wildlife Tour Guide on the Kinabatangan River in Borneo.. LOVED it… but had to come home because I had run out of money. boo.

I’ve set up a site right now following your Dream Niches formula.. it was on first page of Google but today it’s disappeared.. hopefully should come back.. It’s an embarrassing niche.
I’ve also got another great kw in mind but not sure if I should just keep my eye on this one site or should start on the other one…. Not sure what else I can do to the current site (apart from add content) so I’m thinking start on the new one..

I LOVE the cat pictures… I’m trying really hard right now to not go over to lolcats because I know once I go there, there’s no coming back..

OMG. Hope my post wasn’t too long… I know how much you wanna cry when you see a long post ;)

Thanks for sharing your experience Alex…

You guys are awesome and a huge blessing! I have been working on and off on my business for the past 4 years and like many others bought so many products and WSO with very little success but for some reason reading your WSO has finally clicked and actually worked. I created a niche site in just a few days for a keyword that has a huge number of searches, I just followed your blueprint and it worked. I have tried so many other products and they all take TIME which who has a lot of? Anyway, excited to continue building out more niche sites and will keep taking action. Also impressed you guys are actually responding to your email too. Don’t lose the personal touch OK?

Started in Info Marketing 3-4 years ago, struggled up to making a decent living at it. Then almost 2 years ago, got into a partnership that did not work out, split off last March, started rebuilding and got caught by Penguin and found I was badly positioned…was heavy into blog network support, all my money sites had/have thousands of blog links…wiped out my income.

Now rebuilding as fast as I can, 70-80 hour weeks, simultaneously studying like crazy to catch up with tech and marketing developments (Had gotten fat, happy, lazy and complacent \with money site income coming in over the last 2-3 years.)

Now working to get lean and mean, sharp and on top of things again. Time to chart a new course…

This seems like a good place to hang out… Highly competent, uppity and outspoken audacious rebels who laugh and don’t take things too seriously, pursue goals with energy, fervor and intelligence.

Besides, anyone who can peacefully coexist with cats and appreciates them, can’t be ALL bad… ;-))

I’m 17 and have recently been trying to learn all I can about IM. I made like $50 in a whole year with one site, which did not even cover hosting costs. Then again, I wasn’t exactly doing much work in that year.

I’m trying to push it to the next level but it’s really hard with basically $0 to invest. Not to mention school starts back in a couple days and my workload is higher than ever this year (4 AP classes). So I really want to thank you for all the free content. I can honestly say you’re one of the only people (along with cass) who sends emails I’m actually excited to open.

I hope to save up enough for private coaching soon enough! I’m really starting to focus and I think I’m finally going to make this work. You’re story is inspirational and I can’t thank you enough.

As for the cat pics? I’m allergic, but its worth it :)

  72. August 7, 2012

    Hey Guys,

First of all, I would like to thank you for putting the hard work & dedication into Source-wave just for people like us… I have learned a lot from this blog in a short amount of time.

About me:- I worked for 8 years at a telecom company & one fine day I woke up to realize that it is not for me. I quit my miserable job & decided to become self employed through IM even if it means less money. I don’t even earn half of what I used to & everyone keeps telling me that I made the worst decision to quit the job. But I don’t want to give up on my dream of owning a business & having the freedom to act upon my own ideas. My Job gave me some financial security (not really!) but it never made me happy. So here I am trying to make it through the struggles but after reading this post… I am now more determined & inspired to make it happen not just for me but also for my little son (my source of inspiration besides this blog!). I hope to break out of the slump & make a decent living to feed my family. Got no plans to be a millionaire, just want to earn some respect from those who have tagged me as a failure in life.

I don’t have a business model right now, the only income I earn is through affiliate leads/sales. I got a few affiliate sites in the distance education vertical/niche. I would like to break the $1000/month barrier (half way there!). Due to Google constantly changing gears on SEO, I would also like to diversify my income sources instead of relying on just organic traffic for sales. Next plan for me is to get into Amazon kindle & sell some e-books on yoga/spiritual niche.

Once again, thanks for everything & I look forward to all your posts.

    God Bless,

    Chetan Jariwala

    Hi Alex,
For a young guy you certainly have a good handle on life … Just make one point here what
I like about you guys is this …No …Aston Martins…Ferrari’s ..or 57 bedroom mansions …

As soon as these guys start that shit I immediately change channel…
Having come through the University of life this crap does not inspire me in the least…
Most of it is fake anyway and why follow someone as vain as that …

Anyway another right from the hip type post , you have learnes the art form of communication and as I told you before you guys are heading for the top…

I have tried so many different things but now find that by sticking to the bread and butter type marketing you guys give us ,,beats all the rest hands down.
Sorry for waffling on a bit.

    Hey Alex!

I just wanted to say getting on first page was totally easy following your formula and I actually stayed there for nearly 3 weeks… I think it only jumped back when I outsourced the blasting of tweets/votes/shares – Perhaps they were all done in one day instead of spaced out over the week and big G freaked out, or maybe I targeted just one keyword for all the pages. I’ll change it up and see what happens. But main thing is that getting on first page is totally achievable and maintainable.. Thanks to you guys. :)
Already looking forward to your next post/email/cat pic..

    Hi Becker,

First off, I’m from Peru. Yes, the only guy from this side of the world learning from you. LOL

I’ve been involved in MLM. No results.

Since last year I began with affiliate marketing (purchased G.Brown’s GOOGLE SNIPER). I started making $150/month. Then I wanted to increase my income by thousands..no results since Panda/Penguin updates.

As I said, learning from you and I know that with Autopilot…I’ll achieve my goal.

Now, affiliate marketing is the first step.

To own a real biz I have to create my own brand like you did. That’s the real pathway to success. People have problems and money comes when your product/service gives a solution to those problems. That’s how big companies are made.

To be honest…I want to become a millionaire. I truly believe in Law of Attraction and anyone can attract whatever they want in their lives. I won’t give up!

    So, that’s my story. ;-)

    Kindest regards.

Found Source Wave just a about 8 months ago and have been learning loads – fell buy the way side too thinking we were getting all the wsos and overload. Have used Source Links and I am sitting top of local search for my clients 5 chosen keywords – fantastic stuff!

I made a conscious decision 18 months ago, after losing everything, that I wanted to learn new stuff and get back on my feet for ‘myself’. I am glad I have found you guys and look forward to the future with ‘The Source’. I am here for the long haul – keep it coming!

Also, I was just browsing that site of your’s that has the questions for women to answer to “diagnose” themselves (I figure you’d rather me not share the domain) as I am going to create a similar site of my own like that’s in a different niche…

You guys are a breath of fresh air in the IM world where the BS smell is pungent to say the least, Please never out-grow your openness, honesty, and down-to earth style, even when you are also driving Aston Martins (or your fully paid for choice of ride).

I just found you by one of your products maybe 2 weeks ago, this is the first blog post that I have read of yours.

I was born / raised in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and lived there until 1997. Thru a long boring story I have managed in life to go from rags to riches to rags. I need IM to restore me financially. I now live in the Philippines with my new family (after becoming widowed by cancer). I am 70, my child bride of 6 years ago is now 55. My building an IM income is my life insurance policy for her, very important to me.

Here is some honesty you’ll rarely read: over the past 7 years I’ve spent thousands on IM “how to.” I have yet to make one cent? Why? I haven’t done anything except spend money, that’s gotta change! That will change beginning now. I’m going to focus on how one thing works, following your advice first on niche sites.

Very much appreciate your help and advice!

    Thanks for being there! -Greg-

  97. October 29, 2012

Hi Alex Becker, I found your site when I did an internet search for a review on a marketing product which much hype. I looked at 2 reviews and they both said the product was bad news. First of all thank your for the review. Second, I like your blog and your story. I have about 30 blogs and sites. I have made some money but spent alot too. I would say I am still under. I am trying something new. What I have built is a SMS Marketing business. I am using the internet to allow clients to use my platform to market their business services and products. SEO would be great with this but, it does not matter since the sales agents visit the prospects at their place of business to present the system. Where is your mobile device? I bet either on you or no more than ring sound distance away. Anyone with a cell phone is a walking mobile market for instant advertising. We do not spam and we do not want our business clients to either! These businesses are showed ways to have their customers opt-in. What we are doing here is breaking the 80/20 rule. 20% of your customers come in 80% of the time and 80% come 20% of the time. We want to bring the 80% of customers more than 20% and upwards to 40% while getting them to bring in their friends too! Do you like the concept? Check out my site for more information and some videos to deliver the idea of text message marketing and why it works. A big part of SMS is having a mobile experience when you are sent to the business’s web site. Thus, the upsell is a mobile enabled site. Bingo $$$. ==> http://mobiletextmarketing.blogspot.ca One of my landing pages (working on it for a second page attachment with stats about the industry) ==> http://tinyurl.com/9mkfhtt and ==> http://tinyurl.com/8ufpflr

Thank you for showing me that you can do anything you set your mind on. I am setting my mind on SMS Marketing.

    All the best, Ivor

    Hey Alex…

My name is Steve. I’m 30, from Las Vegas and I got into internet Marketing because I see potential. LOTS of potential. Plain and simple. The things that people do online, and the money they make is crazy! Most of these people aren’t even that smart to boot.

My goals right now are to set up an authority site, and work my way towards the lovely $100 a day goal… for now. I like the idea of having one big site that serves and ranks for alot of different words. A site that can REALLY help people that’s informative, and trust building. I also wanna help little local businesses SEO their sites. The SEO stuff you talk about is just awesome. I love your honesty.

Playing guitar in the videos? Hell yeah. I play the trumpet myself. I used to get paid for it, but not much anymore cause I kinda let my skills slip. Right now I’m a server at the Olive Garden. :) Screw soup, salad, and breadsticks bro…

Anyways I’m just thankful I stumbled upon the Underdog Course and Source Wave. You’re a breath of fresh air in this whole IM game, and you have so much to offer. So many people are so full of shit. Just.. thanks man. Keep kickin’ ass at the guitar and making sweet SEO vids.

Man, this was BY FAR the most inspiring blog post I have read in the last week… I explain: I started my obsession with blogging about two weeks ago when I watched helplessly my girlfriend (love of ma life) crying over having a lousy job with much lousier bosses and concluding I was at the same situation only earning a bit more… At that day it just clicked!

Now I am consuming whatever blog about making money with IM I can and every blogger history is more heroic than the other… It got me thinking “Maybe I must have been a good productive guy to have success…” because all people making blogs were hard-workers, good at school and this kind of thing… then I read this post…

man, I can TOTALLY relate to how you were at High School! I was about the SAME! I hated that shit and only wanted to live large… so now, here I am at a public job with an average sallary and a shitty boss…

Man I really respect what you’re doing here! It is TOTALLY awesome! I won’t settle for less! I want to be part of this community! Thank you for existing and doing such a wonderful job man!

    Hey Becker!

God I love listening to your stuff. It’s just nice to hear someone cut through the boron stuff and just gives you the details. Highly recommended!

Question: I have been doing a lot of listening and researching having my goal be to create some niche sites. I am seeing a lot of squidoo pages ranking super high for some of the keywords #1 in some cases. Is this typical? Does the domain authority and back linking from squidoo boost even pretty lame pages?

Overall, Squidoo page or website I would love your opinion!

    Thanks man

I have wanted to build websites for 10-15 years even though I had no idea for most of that period how one would monetize a website. I just wanted to build, share, help…you get the picture.

My goals and what excites/inspires me are really the same. My goal is to really learn and understand how to make this IM thing work, use it to create a comfortable income for my family that doesn’t revolve around selling my hours, and then teach others how to do the same.

That sounds pretty typical but my dream is a bit different.

I’d like to work directly with young people who are facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles but who have the fire/drive to succeed. I want to be an inspiration to others that their life is (largely) a product of their decisions and that THEY control their life. It doesn’t matter if they were born into poverty, raised in abuse, taught to accept the status quo…if they choose to get out, they can. I want to create a resource, a team of individuals, to act as personal mentors and teach those highly disadvantaged youth how to dig themselves out.

Right now, I’m working on ranking my first site. I’ve created the most complete resource for my particular topic that can be “found” online…now I need it to be found. :D The thing is that I’ve put so much into this site that I’m afraid of tanking it by unknowingly using BAAAAADDDDD SEO tactics. So I’m reviewing your stuff and Matthew Woodward’s and determining my plan of attack.

I think your use of cat pictures and just about everything else is hilarious. (I have ADHD so your “flow” and personal, um, insights actually help keep my attention…NOT easy to do.) :D

Becker, I have learned a great deal from Infinitum. Is there really much different about OMG that one will learn vs. Infinitum?
It seems as though there are many similarities. Please give me some advice!

    Alex,

I am a marketing/information systems major at Salisbury University. I recently have applied for a high paying internship at a Delaware law firm who is looking to increase their Eastern Shore image. One of the main responsibilities is to have knowledge of SEO as this is the main project of the internship. I would very much like to pursue this internship for the info/mktg experience as it would look good on my resume as well as compensate me well for the summer term. I have watched some of your YouTube videos and was hoping as an expert you could give me some introductory tips/advice on how to get started with SEO as I know relatively nothing about the field and am starting from scratch. I am coming to you as an inspiring IS major who is looking to learn. As I still have two semesters to complete at Salisbury University, I have not looked into any SEO classes yet. I am not entirely sure if they are even offered in my field as an information systems major. They may only be offered in the computer science track.

I was hoping you or any assistants could forward me some beginner information about running SEO. As long as I have some general knowledge for the interview, I can work from there and find some professors at Salisbury who also may have some input. I know you are busy and thank you for listening to an inspired IS student. You can reach me at my e-mail or at (410)322-4192.
    Sincerely,
    Vincent Anthony Orbino

Could you essentially create a blog and just create a ton of different postings that include the offers from offervault? Or do you need to create a separate web page for each marketing offer?
