3rd For A 22k Search In 3 Days
My Entire $400 A Day SEO Strategy
The Big SEO Penalty Of 2013
About the TV niche.. I just got an email from NBC Universal yesterday about my battlestargalacticaepisodeguide.com. It seemed very real.
Not sure if I´ll get punished but it scared me quite a bit.. I took the site down right away.
Mikko, also had a battlestar galactica site and got the same email a month ago took it down right away haha – haven’t heard anything else
Pretty simple solution. Make Episodeguide.com/battlestargalaticaepsiodeguide problem solved =P
I likes the way you think, Alex.
I do too =)
So you would need to make a completely new wordpress blog on a subdomain ? I like the way you present the information, however I need to train myself to forget all the BS I have read about KW research and SEO. I also battle ADD and maybe that’s why its not sinking in as much as I would like. Man I cannot wait to find a KW and rank a site. I am an autoblogger that is trying to convert! LOL
Awesome stuff keep sharing this ideas and methods and I promise it will sink in and I can be one of your success stories!
Man.. this is the best seo keyword research video i have every watched. Becker Has done awesome job.
Alex what do you think about Keyword Difficulty Index used in SEOMOZ’s keyword difficulty tool ?
“Another Night in…. Another keywooooord…..”
Great video Becker as usual.
Just like every huge fan of Source Wave, I’ve watched practically all your previous videos and read all your previous posts (my brain almost explote, but I’m fine), and I remember one where you talked about your #1 Super Power: Find the “Business/Interaction potential” in a keyword.
Like for example with “kamasutra pdf” what you did was to ask for the email in exchange of giving the pdf and then promoting a dating product.
For a future video I would love to see you go deep into this specific factor:
>> How to monetize keywords that APPARENTLY can’t be monetize… The Source-Wave way <<
Finally… Have you though of start giving away stuff with the Source-Wave logo?? Cups, watches, caps, t-shirts, etc?
I know I would use my Source Wave cup everyday =)
Source Wave is the elitest of the elite secret society, so we cannot openly brandish our paraphernalia like you suggest. If someone were to find your Source Wave coffee cup, our whole mission would be compromised.
Just kidding I would love a T-Shirt! You could subtly monetize Source Wave with that stuff.
I think Jorge’s ideas is great actually.
yay, I’m in for a shirt and a cup too. Would put it on my FB page and all my virtual (fake) friends which I purchased through Fiverr would think, whoooaaa… Phil is a really cool guy *lol*
Amazing stuff, as always Becker.
I start selling SEO services in my local community and btw tell everyone that I really am part of an elite SEO community so I stay on top things going on in SEO
When you say you could monetise a site like that and make $2 to $3 per day is that with adsense?
i added to your top 10 method and found some killer untapped niches.
just by doing searches like
top ten weirdest ______
top 10 unlikely _______
top ten strangest ______
top ten worst _________
top ten most dangerous, stressful, funny, reliable, expensive etc. __________
yep it rules!
lol’ I can’t believe that domain is still available!
Would you really choose to go for a keyword like that tho’, over a more generic niche phrase for your domain?
More generic, but you could rank it super fast with a EMD
Emd in 2013 ??
Becker, another great video. This is something I’ve always struggled with but will no longer (well not as much anyway).
However like Jorge Luiz has said and I was thinking the same, how do you monetize this?
I presume as you said $3-$5 per day it would be adsense?
All the best Jedi.
Id monetize it with hulu. You can watch stuff online there =)
I am new to Hulu as I am not a US Resident…do Hulu have an affilliate system for want of a better term or would you monetize it by charging a monthly membership to watch the episodes….
Yes, Hulu has an affiliate program, Netflix has one. You can sell Satellite Direct (was top product on CB w/ 600+ gravity – moved to ClickSure). Hell, you could sell paraphenalia from Amazon, eBay.
Almost every company online that sells a product or service has an affiliate program. It is by far the most intelligent form of marketing for them (IMO).
Just Google like “Hulu affiliate program” then sign up free =D
Hi Becker, Always been confused by keyword research even using market samurai, but you have just simplified it in the video. Looks like i will be joining your source infinitum group soon.
I live in the UK and can’t view Hulu unless I use a proxy, I don’t much about hulu but how do you monetize it on your sites
for the first time in long time i feel i can finally start ranking websites again. thank you so much. will be joining source infinitum soon
Just when I think there’s no more to know about KW research (after all you’ve shown us before) you add another set of distinctions!
You’re getting better and better at explaining all this… or maybe I’m understanding it more as I get deeper into SEO.
Anyways – good job and thank you!
This is good stuff! Thank you for sharing and giving out your secrets away without taking advantage of your followers/subscribers. Another “MASTER BA_ _ _ _ N” stuff worth practicing… lol b:). BTW, Can you feature a post wherein you can improve PR and SERP position within a week for a relatively new site (6-8 months)… just wishful thinking…
All the best!
Hey Ana, got a cool case study coming up that should get you what you need in this regard =)
EPIC LOL –> THE FAIL INTRO jajaja
Becker, thanks man… using this method i found a very very good untapped keyword on the financial niche!
Without backlinks right now im sitting in the 2nd page…
The thing here is that im having problems to reach the 1st position, i really dont care about the 2nd, 3rd… bla bla bla… i want the first position, im buying high PR domain with this program called prpowershot, the problem here is that im not finding PR domains with good inboundlinks (and as i see and investigate it seems that these are the most powerful domains)
Can you help us in this particular topic?
Finding sites with a good PR and the links to back it up will be difficult and expensive (not impossible). Do what Becker shows and just buy inks on established sites rather than the sites themselves. It’ll save you time and money and you’ll probably get better rankings anyways. Here’s the vid on that: http://source-wave.com/seo-backlink/
edit: buy *links
Haven’t had my mornin coffee yet, but.
Your search for anime and cartoon show a little more than 1 million.
When i search the same words I get more than 55 millions!
Same adwordstool, same setup as yours?
I like your way of thinking outside the box, but now when you bought a fansy studio and I
can finally hear what you are saying But then you move to the computer I cannot hear anything anymore
Your using broad match instead of exact match
What’s amazing about this stuff you show is that it’s really just common sense. It’s the blindfold that goes over people’s eyes when they get into internet marketing and the whole “tools for everything” mentality. You can automate a lot of things but sometimes the only tool you need is the one between your ears, lol. Another great vid. Thanks.
man… I was just zoning out to the music at the end and it stopped. Buzzkill. Good shit in the video though, thanks.
Yep, goode stuff mann.. shoulf a man say that a thought of a simple man is the best one.. means: look no further than your own yard/neighborhood. All the answers are closer than you think, but trust no one…
Ok, so you got an awesome 20k exact domains with little or no SEO competition. You then place PR5 links pointing at it, and let it sit, right?
Ha in super simple terms, yes!
But you need to get the right kind of PR5 (or PR3+) links. Use Majestic SEO to check the page you want to place a link on for backlinks 1K+ (100K+ ideal), citation flow 20+, and trust flow 20+. Right Becker?
If you are looking to be frugal and buy a PR5 link that costs like $15 for 3 mo. then you will need a lot more b/c there is a reason it is cheap. Look for the links (described above) that cost you about $20/mo. and it will pay off much faster. Also, you want to contact sites that are relevant to your niche, but if a site with PR5, 10K+ backlinks, citation flow 25, trust flow 27 for example is offering links but not relevant, it will still work wonders.
Also, don’t over use your keyword for anchor text to avoid penalties! I say use your keyword no more than 20% as an anchor. Anyone disagree?
Another amazing video post. Thank you for keeping things simple to understand and easy to follow…!!!
Great Video! Your method for keyword research is unique, and I’ll definitely be putting it to use in my business. So simple, but very powerful.
Becker, thanks for another great insite into the way your mind works.
WTG Alex! I use some of the tools you mentioned, including SKCA – the problem is not the tools themselves, it is exactly as you have said, it is what you pour into those tools (csv files etc) that is the problem – put garbage in, get garbage out. Like cooking a gourmet meal – you have to hunt down the best places for the best ingredients and not some “off the shelf” product that simply doesn’t cut it.
Research, research, research – if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. You could not have put that across any better – thanks for reminding all of us to stop being lazy and reaching for the off the shelf stuff.
Great series of vids – I follow them all – looking forward to the next!
I just wondered wether you could do a video about domain names, surely you can not have an exact match because of copyright laws. Would really love this to be cleared up as I think a lot of people are falling foul of this. Excellent video as always.
What do you mean about having an exact match because of copyright laws? I have many EMDs as do MANY others. Sometimes a company can harass you (EXTREMELY rare), but what is lost? $10-$15 for a domain name? That makes it another great reason to create a skeleton site and not add content until your rankings have completely solidified. That gives companies time to check out your site and email you if they will take legal action if you do not take the site down. Just don’t add domain privacy in the beginning.
Yeah Ive done this for years and never been harassed. Its such a small problem that it shouldnt take you from taking action
I mean for instance if I bought the domain name iPhone 6 release date. Surely apple will not like this because it has the name of a potential product in the tittle. I’m new to all this but I’ve heard of some people getting sued because of this. Please clarify.
The point is, they’re not just going to sue you out of the blue. They’re going to attempt to contact you first to take the site down and give you a warning, and that’s not likely at all to happen either.
If you have the domain iphone6releasedate.com for example and you are selling Samsung phones on it, they may not like it and ask you to change your domain. However, if you’re selling just Apple products (like as an Amazon affiliate), they’ll probably be happy you’re promoting their products.
Either way, they can’t just sue you out of the blue without contacting you first and asking you to make changes.
Things only go to a court room when two parties continually disagree and get nowhere because of it.
I have the domain “ipodreviews.net” (old and crappy site) that used to get like 20-30 visitors per day for a long time. I never had any issues with Apple.
I have been struggling with this business for three years…I finally see a ray of hope. Which of your fantastic video series would you recommend watching to get the most help with building a new site once you have a keyword or two.
Epic. Thanks for the tips and insights Becker!! Good SHIT!
Great video per usual….and good choice in music. Everyone that enjoyed the song on Becker’s outro the artist is Kaskade (I believe the song is called Move For Me)…..go make a “Kaskade” Pandora channel and chill out for a few hours….. good stuff.
Whats the music at the end of the video? Whats its called???
Great stuff, Alex! Thanks for holding up a mirror and showing us how we can think for ourselves and out-of-the-box when it comes to keyword and niche research. This is HUGE, game changing leverage. You’ve probably forgotten more than most self-proclaimed SEO gurus knew to begin with. Now we can really get on with it and THINK–DO–TEST, THINK–DO-TEST, ad infinitum.
Another wonderful episode of Becker.0!
Question: Let’s say we rank a skeleton site for an 8K+ exact local SPM.
For how much (roughly speaking) could we expect to sell a site l
ike this (with #1 rankings and zero content)?
Can you sell sites successfully like this that are only maybe 1-2 weeks old?
P.S. I’ve been sending some people your way and they’re also lovin’ it.
I’ll be sending more of my friends
Becker, let me count the ways…. i love you! Your insights are so helpful and your sense of humor makes me LOL. Keep it up buddy. You’re a rockstar!
What are your thoughts on linking together your own high PR sites as long as they are on different IP’s? Like linking A to B, C to D etc. No wheels or anything . Just to add some more trust and authority to some of the PR2′s in the network…
Never ever do it
Long time viewer, first time commenter. And great video as always. Especially like the nice musical finale…gave me something to listen to while scrolling through the comments .
Quick question about your skeleton sites…do you link all of your sites up to your G+ account? From personal experience authorship has been helping me out with rankings. Figured it should help across the board. But then again, I don’t want to have 15 different “areas of expertise” or whatever you want to call it.
I would think that for major niche site undertakings it would be worth it to set up a separate G+ account. But what about for the tiny $5/day ones?
Would love to hear your thoughts as yours is really one of the only SEO sites I still visit (I’d rather just do my own experiments most of the time ).
I do not usually. Though this is not a bad idea. I only link my g+ to my authority branded sites like Source Tabs.
My 2 cents, only link it to your big dogs
hopefully u did this post on 6th/7th feb. I took a brand new domain on 6th feb 13,
Now, asking u harshly, Google page rank updated on feb 5th, may be next would be in “May 13″,
i have only 3 months time, like in one of ur posts, “GUN TO MY HEAD, PUT BY ME”.
I want PR2 for a brand new PR0 in just 3 months. come on tell me “MASTER BA_ _ _ _ N”. What the heck strategy should i do?
I have an idea that i never did, i want to know if my idea touches urs.
Being a fan of yours, SORRY SORRY, follower of you, i started thinking on my own, no more blue prints, but i need to brain match.
Let me see if i started thinking something like you my master.
Forgot, i din’t recognize dude, source-wave now PR2 from PR1.
come on baby,
i know u don’t mind PR (Page rank) for source wave, but u mind PR(Public Relations) from/with/in/for…oooooooooo so on
“source wave” = “source ocean”(my terms). Love u baby.
haha thats funny. I dont do much SEO to SW, its much easier to get IM related traffic from other sources =)
Another great video…1 Question, What’s the name of the song at the end?
Deadmau5 & Kaskade – “Move for me” , try searching for a dubstep remix
*trap for me
This might be the best keyword research posts I have ever seen, not even kidding. You’re the man
You’ve conquered my internet market heart Alex. I’m addicted to the stuff you’ve given around here and I even started a case study for the foreign seo method. That’s a real goldmine!
All I have to say is that Becker is the (insert F bomb here) man!
Just by following the FREE information he shares here, I was able to rank a site on the 1st page – spot # 7 of the big G in 4 days for the term How To make Girls Laugh.
It’s not a huge search, but good enough for me for this test.
Not long after that the site fell to the 2nd page – spot 14. I was a bit bummed, then I saw another post from our good friend Becker that talked about putting a YouTube video on your crappy site to rank.
Sure enough, THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER I ADDED THE VIDEO…the site jumped back onto the 1st page on spot #4!
Anyone here that doubts Becker, all I have to say is you’re a certified fool!
Becker, I’ve told you before that I don’t normally lick boots, but you are continually impressing me with what you teach!
If you can, hit me up privately. I have something that might interest you…
I have a serious business proposal for you around marketing a location based marketing product developed by my company. I tried to send an email to email@example.com however it bounced. Please contact me if you want to discuss this opportunity further.
Becker good thins what you teach BUT one thing you never shared is how to protect these precious backlinks from competitors who can report it to Big G as a spam link profile and trigger a manual audit ? I mean seriously, some people really report competitors sites.
Maybe a topic for one of your next videos ?
Great vid, thanks.
What are your thoughts though on Google’s EMD update? Isn’t it the opposite of what you teaching above?
This works like a charm. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the great insight,
Pretty amazing man, not sure why I am getting your auto responder months late but everyone video is total non BS.
Love the methods and outside of the box thinking. The only think I am experimenting with is instead of making new sites just make new pages.
Sites and even si domains take too much time. I have seen it easier to rank pages on authority type site than brand new sites even with edm
Good stuff. very good. I purchased a few domains from yourmaindomain.com per Alex recommendations. Does any one know if they will likely lose their PR with new content once site is transferred? Has been three days also and have not heard from them on my purchase.
Challenge is to keep the top position
Challenge is to gt top 10 position in all 3 search engines at least G & Yahooh
Challenge is to have conversation around my site in social media like buzz, omigilli etc..
Challenge is to get natural reference from Quora & alltop
Challenge to get conversation at my own post.
Becker taught me basics long back and I can climb on my own top top 5 but can’t hold the position more than a month.
Another night out, another dance floor .. yaaahhh baby!! :):)
